THE STUDIO
"MYRABEL"
The Producing Studio “Myrabel”was
created in 1992. The Studio is indebted for its birth to
MIRA TODOROVSKAYA, to her great experience, a scriptwriter (more than thirty documentaries
and popular scientific films).
She started
“producing” in times when there was no such profession in this country. She has
found the script film “INTERGIRL”, she also has found some foreign partners, the
Swedes, and further she has become a producer from the Swedish side having made
for them a short version of this film.
The film “INTERGIRL” by Piotr Todorovsky became a
premier hit in those times of Perestroyka.
“ENCORE, ONCE
MORE ENCORE!” by Director Piotr Todorovsky became the first official film of the
Myrabel Studio. In 1995 the Director produced a picture “WHAT A WONDERFUL GAME”
at this Studio.
In 1996 Maya Turovskaya and Marianna
Tavrog created two feature-publicist film – “THE SENTIMENTAL GROTESQUE OR THE
JEWISH THEATER ARTISTS” and “THE MARK CHAGALL’S THEATER”.
In 1997 Director and Art Director Boris Blank shoot a documentary about
Sergey Eisenstein’s sensuality – “THE MYSTERY OF THE WOMAN AND THE
BEAST’.
At the beginning of 1998 Piotr Todorovsky
finished production of new film “LOVE IN THREE” based on the famous silent reel
“THE THIRD MESCHANSKAYA”.
In 1999 Director Marianna Tavrog shoot a
feature-publicist film “EUGENE ONEGIN.CHAPTER X” based on the script by Maya
Turovsraya.
In 2000 Directors Boris Blank and Viktor
Ryabov completed production of children’s musical-tale “FROG
PRINCESS”.
In 2001 Piotr Todorovsky is working
simultaneously on two films. The first film from the times of the Great
Patriotic War “IN CONSTELLATION OF TAURUS” is dedicated to the 60-th anniversary
of the Germans defeating of Stalingrad. The second one is a tragicomedy about
the present life in one small town near Moscow – “LIFE IS FULL OF
GAMES”.
The Studio has an experience in cinema services.
For example, the American Company Parallax was granted services for searching of
investors, film crew forming and nature selection during shooting of joint
Russian-American picture “RUNNING UPON ICE”.
